Storage and transhipment company, Schiedam

Storage and transhipment on the Nieuwe Waterweg

Specialised in unloading and loading small seagoing vessels, coasters, lighters and trucks, weighed and unweighed. Cargo-friendly transhipment with grab cranes, minimal waiting times and on-site administration.

Why Nieuwe Waterweg Silo

A terminal built for the work that larger transhipment companies are too unwieldy for.

Small vessel, full attention

Small seagoing vessels, coasters and lighters are our core business, not leftover work. Large terminals are not set up for them; we are.

As close to Rotterdam as it gets

Inland vessels do not have to sail on to a location closer to the sea. That saves sailing time, and sailing time is money.

A family business on the Nieuwe Waterweg

Nieuwe Waterweg Silo is a family business in Schiedam. Short lines, familiar people and a terminal we operate ourselves. Whoever calls speaks to someone who knows the vessel.

The company has been active in the port of Schiedam for generations and grew along with the scale of inland and coastal shipping. Throughout those years the terminal has stayed geared to the smaller seagoing vessel.

Cooperation

A. Brussé en Zn.

Nieuwe Waterweg Silo and stevedoring company A. Brussé en Zn. share the same owner and work closely together. Where our terminal has fixed cranes on the quay, Brussé is mobile with floating cranes. That allows transhipment to continue away from the quay in Schiedam as well, for instance for larger seagoing vessels in the Waalhaven.
